Unfortunately the coach blew a tire. We were forced to stop just outside Lyon till 2.30am local time while repairs were carried out. It is very unlikely that we will reach Calais in time for our ferry, and will consequently be late getting back to school. We spent the morning packing our cases and relaxing. We then had some time to chill at the beach for one last time or explore Calella. We have now loaded and boarded the coach, and are heading home.
After a short 3 hour delay we are now in Spain. We’ve had a brief comfort break and are now pushing onto Calella. Making good progress on our way through France. We just went over the amazing Millau Viaduct. Lovely sunny day in France with the countryside and with lots of hillside fortified villages. Everyone is in good spirits after watching Pitch Perfect.
Our first pit stop in France, a brief chance to stretch our legs and use the amenities. Travelling through France late in the evening and night of Bastille Day has been strangely serene.
